 Electronic Recycling Association

Welcome!

In October 2004, Alberta launched phase I of its new electronics recycling program, the first of its kind in Canada. Get the facts on Alberta's newest program.

Since then, more than 75 collection sites and e-roundups have been established across the province to collect old televisions and computers (and equipment) currently going into Alberta's landfills.  These items are being collected, recycled and turned into new opportunities for Albertans.  Please click the following for specific information about Edmonton and Calgary collection of electronic material.

Phase II of the program implementation includes the introduction of an environmental fee that retailers will charge on the purchase of new desktop computers (& related equipment) and televisions starting February 1, 2005.

What will the environment fee be used for?  The fee will cover the cost of collection, transportation and recycling of electronic materials, public information & awareness programs, and electronics-related research.

Let's do our part to keep our Alberta environment safe and clean for future generations.
